Our Puppy Classes Level 1, 2 & 3 are designed to give your puppy the best possible start in life. We focus on life-skills and socialisation - teaching puppies how to navigate the human world and behave in different situations. We put an emphasis on preventing behavioural problems, to ensure that your puppy grows into a well adjusted, confident, sociable dog.
Puppy Classes start at level 1, where we cover foundations of recall, lead walking, name recognition, husbandry/handling, dropping objects progressing through to levels 2 & 3, where we progress recall and lead walking, settling in any situation, foundations of stay, door manners, leave it and more!

Who are these classes for?
- Puppies under 6 months of age (with vaccination course completed)
- Owners who want to give their puppies the best start in life
- Rolling start date - we cover a different topic each week, so no need to wait for a start date, you can join any week! No wasting those early learning opportunities!
- Puppies travel to us from Berkshire and Oxfordshire
What we cover in class
- Common puppy questions - toilet training, biting, feeding, appropriate play and socialisation, etc.
- Building foundations for a strong recall
- Walking on a loose lead
- Settling in any situation (very useful if you want to take your dog out with you)
- Greeting people politely
- Focus on the owner
- Handling - preparing your puppy for all important visits to the vet, groomer and other initially unfamiliar environments.
- Door manners
- Drop & leave
Our comprehensive puppy course is designed for your convenience. You can book levels 1, 2 & 3 back-to-back or with breaks in between to make sure classes fit with your schedule.
At Dogs Be Dogs, we hold our puppy training sessions just outside Caversham, Reading.
