Feeling stuck with your puppy? You’re not alone.

One person tells you to ignore the biting. Another says your puppy just needs more exercise. Before long, you’re second guessing everything.

You’re not doing anything wrong. You’ve just not been shown what actually works in real life.

“Why won’t they stop biting?”
“Why are they constantly on the go and struggling to settle?”
“Why do they grab things and run off like it’s a game?”
“Why do walks feel stressful instead of enjoyable?”

Our puppy classes focus on practical skills that make everyday life with your puppy feel easier.

What our Clients say:

Divider

"Absolutely essential!

We’ve learnt so much and have enjoyed putting it into practice and showing off our newly learnt skills! The support both in class and out has been absolutely essential in helping us through these first few months and as a first time puppy owner Tash has really helped reassure me about what’s normal  and how to approach different situations.

Rachael & Freddie"

"So proud!!

Classes with Tash have been fun and we’ve learnt so many essential skills to help our 5 month old puppy Mika from walking off lead, settling on her mat, recall, game ideas for enrichment and so much more. Highly recommend!"

"Reassured & Happier

I had a list as long as my arm of questions for Tash, and they were all answered during our session, whilst Rosie sat like an Angel at Tash's feet.

I had a little emotional moment when I realised I had been overthinking pretty much everything, and Rosie and I are both much happier for having that session.

Clare and Rosie"

What will you and your puppy learn and why it matters:

Divider

Most puppy training focuses on commands.

We focus on what actually makes day-to-day life easier.

Because it’s not about whether your puppy can do something in a quiet room.
It’s about whether they can make good choices when real life is happening.

In our classes, we focus on the skills owners struggle with most:

  • Coming back when you call them — even when something more exciting is happening
  • Walking nicely on the lead — without pulling or switching off
  • Not grabbing things and running off with them
  • Settling at home — instead of being constantly “on”
  • Greeting people calmly — without jumping up
  • Letting go of things safely — without it turning into a game
  • Feeling relaxed being handled — for vets and grooming
  • Staying focused on you — even around distractions

Plus: guided puppy play, so you’re not left guessing what good socialisation actually looks like.

This is practical, real-life training — the kind that makes living with your puppy feel easier, calmer, and far more enjoyable.

Our puppy programme is split into three supportive levels, so you can keep building skills without feeling overwhelmed.

🐾 Level 1 (4 weeks, £120)
Building foundations for real life, including recall, lead walking, confidence, calmness and focus around distractions.

🐾 Level 2 (4 weeks, £120)
Adding more reliability, real-world distractions and practical skills for everyday life with your puppy.

🐾 Level 3 (4 weeks, £120)
Continuing to progress skills around higher distractions, off-lead reliability, impulse control and real-life situations.

Most owners move through the levels back-to-back so they can keep building progress and stay consistent with training. But life happens, and puppies don’t stop being puppies because you went on holiday or missed a couple of weeks.

Because classes have rolling start dates, you can take a short break and rejoin without feeling like you’ve fallen behind or missed your chance to continue training.

Join our small, supportive classes and get clear guidance, real progress, and reassurance from people who genuinely understand what you’re going through.

Frequently asked questions:

Divider

What age can my puppy start?
Puppies can join as soon as they’ve had their vaccinations. Starting early makes a big difference — it’s much easier to build good habits from the beginning than fix things later.

What do the classes cover?
We focus on the skills that make everyday life easier with your puppy — recall, loose lead walking, polite greetings, ‘drop,’ ‘leave it,’ settling, and staying focused on you, even around distractions.

Where and when are the classes held?
We run classes in two convenient locations:

Mapledurham (RG4) — Saturday and Sunday at 10am and Wednesday 6pm.
Sulhamstead (RG7) — Saturday 10am.

Both locations are easily accessible from Reading, Caversham, Henley, Tilehurst, Calcot, Burghfield, Mortimer and surrounding areas.

Do you have set start dates, or can we join anytime?

We have rolling start dates, so you can join as soon as there’s a space available. No long waits — you can get started when you’re ready.

What happens if I miss a class?
Life happens — and you won’t fall behind.

Because our classes run on a rolling system, you can simply attend the topic you missed when it comes around again. That means your puppy still gets the full experience, without the pressure of trying to “catch up” on your own.

Who can attend the classes?
We encourage the whole family to come along. The more consistent your puppy’s learning is at home, the quicker you’ll see progress.

Why choose our classes?

Our classes are designed by a behaviourist who specialises in working with gundogs and their crosses, alongside a gundog trainer who understands how to give these dogs appropriate outlets for their natural instincts.

That means we don’t just teach skills — we help you channel your puppy’s energy, drive, and focus in a way that actually works in a home environment.

With a strong focus on prevention, we help you avoid common issues before they start, rather than trying to fix them later.

Most puppy classes teach commands. We show you how to live with a gundog brain in a pet home.

You won’t be left guessing what to do — you’ll have clear, practical guidance every step of the way.
