How the recall training course works
This three-week puppy recall training course runs at our secure field in Mapledurham, between Caversham, Pangbourne and Henley. We work on two things that go together.
Â
The first is connection. A lot of traditional recall training is really damage control - getting a dog back once they’ve already run off. We start the other way round - building a puppy who wants to stay close in the first place, so you’re not calling them back all the time.

The second is the recall itself - an emergency recall - one word that turns your puppy on the spot and brings them galloping back, for the moments that count.

You’ll get exercises to practise between sessions, and we build it all up around real distractions in the field, because that’s where you actually need it.

This course is for puppies under six months who are fully vaccinated and happy around other puppies and people. You don’t need any training behind you - plenty of owners come having done nothing yet, and it’s a popular next step for our own puppy class families too.

Puppy Socialisation
You're told to socialise your puppy, but not where, or how, or what's safe - and you've got four weeks until their second vaccination. We take the guesswork out of it. Calm, guided sessions designed for puppies before their second vaccination - a safe first introduction to other puppies, new people and the world, with expert help every step.
Puppy Classes
We’re not going to teach your puppy to sit - you’ve probably already done that. We focus on the skills that make real life easier: coming back when you call, walking without pulling, and giving things up instead of running off with them. The real goal?
